I think that you can think that you had the ride of your life only to find out later that a new ride is actually thee ride of your life. That being said, yes, technically there is only one ride but the fact that you perceived both to be thee ride makes it so that you experience more than one ride of your life.

Yup. Life is a continuous loop, like a Ferris Wheel. You are on the top at times, and the bottom at other times. I think anyone would agree that the ride to the top, seems like ' the ride of your life '.
