When a connect a usb device to my computer, it doesnt detect it?

I am connecting an rca lyra 2850 mp3 player to my computer. It detects tha I have connected a device but it doesnt detect that it is an mp3 player and doesnt let me access anything I have on it. It worked fine before but all of a sudden it stopped working. Please help.

Then, you need to install: ONE Anti-virus (delete others, I use AVG free), ONE Firewall (Zone Alarm), and these 5 Anti-spyware tools: Windows Defender, Spybot, Ad-Aware, Spyware Blaster and cCleaner.
I use all regularly. Google for them, install them and learn how to use them (HINT: Use the Help TAB).

TIP: The apps above can only clean up so much. As a last resort, back up all personal data from your PC (copy to CD / DVD / external hard drive) and do a Windows "Clean Install" (for instructions go to: (www.theeldergeek.com).
