It is not an addiction. You make a conscious choice, every time you look at porn, to do so. No one is twisting your arm. Just don't do it. Control your own self. Don't expect anyone else to control you. you have the power just do it. The only other alternative would be to cut off your hands or put out your eyes. You get to CHOOSE. You are a teenager we all went through it and you hopefully will grow out of it but you must control it yourself. Teenagers brains are still forming and growing. Your mind is not fully formed yet and those thoughts will be there for you to control as you control it your brain learns. That is why teenagers rarely make the right choices. You should rely on your parents to guide you in the right direction. Your parents went through the same things. Just because the Internet is relatively a new thing does not mean that they did not go through these things. Believe me we all go through it. You must replace the action to view porn with another wholesome activity. Masturbation is not a wholesome activity. Try getting out side and taking in some fresh air. Go for walks. Join a team. Play ball. Skateboard. Ride a bike. Get plenty of exercise so that your brain will have a better chance to grow. Looking at pictures on the computer is not a brain growing opportunity.

it could take a life time.....I'm battling the same thing. now many will say porn is okay and I'm not going to comment either way but addiction no matter what the substance is bad for you and can make you feel guilt. There is actually support groups just like alcoholics anonymous it's called sex addicts anonymous and they can help you. if you just try to bury the thing the side effects never go away because you never deal with them so you need to face what caused it to become an addiction in the first place and work through it. I am and it is very hard to do and takes a long time but good luck.

Get help. At 15 it may be difficult because many 12-step programs don't allow minors. Maybe you can find people your own age to talk to about it on-line. Sharing the problem with others helps a lot.
Looking at porn obsessively or engaging in compulsive sexual behaviors is rarely about sex. It is about mood altering(changing the way you feel at the moment) Typically, just trying to keep an addict away from his drug(in this case pornography) doesn't work very well. Try to take note of when you seem to be doing more of it and when you seem to be doing less of it. This is significant. Note what else is going on in your life during your high and low periods. You may find that rejection from girls, stress at home and other things make you want to go on the computer and look for stuff.
Try not to look at anything you're doing as bad. The idea that there's something bad about sex or certain types of sex are bad is part of many sexual problems including sexual addiction. But realize there are real consequences to compulsive sexual behavior. It may be just internet porn now but it may expand into other more serious and dangerous behaviors later in life.
When looking at any thing you're doing ask the question, is this behavior helping me or hurting me. Think helpful/not-helpful rather than good or bad.

Are you in a 12 step program, or are you part of a help group? I think you should be. Any addiction should be taken seriously. Managing an addiction alone would be very difficult. By side-effects I assume you mean the urges to look at and use the porn. An addict's urges sometimes do not go away, but entering a recovery program can make them much easier to manage and counteract. I would seriously suggest getting rid of your home pc, if at all possible, as this may pose too great a temptation - it would be like an alcoholic keeping gin in the cupboard. I sincerely hope you get the help you need to understand and manage your addiction.

This is going to be hard, but ask your parents to put a filter on your computer. You don't have to say you are addicted -- maybe tell them you sometimes let other guys use your computer and you don't want them going to porn sites and getting viruses
Then get busy. Set some goals for yourself. Working out is good. Getting your grades up is even better if you've been neglecting schoolwork for porn. Get an after-school job or do volunteer work -- anything that makes you feel good about yourself and keeps you busy at the time of day you usually watch porn. If you sit around at home with nothing to do, then the urges will torment you -- you must replace this bad habit with a good habit or series of good habits for it to be successful.
How long it takes is up to you. If you let yourself be tempted all the time, it's not going to work. Good luck -- this is the right thing to do!

Its not all about sex. I mean, you may like male porn better than female because you get bored. Think about this. Can you picture yourself dating a man? Can you picture yourself loving and caring for a man just as you would a woman? Can you picture yourself kissing or having sex with a man? If you answered yes to most of those questions I would say you are gay or bisexual. If you can't picture any of that, than you are probably just curious :)

Good luck to you!!! It probably will not go away. At fifteen, you can"will" a hard on just by thinking about the opposite sex.
What do you need porn for?
Just cut back on the sites you are visiting. Trust me, you cannot give it up completely.
UNLESS YOU ARE SAVED!!!!
