If your period is just starting up again that same day and the flow is very light, should you still wear a tampon while swimming in the ocean? Is it necessary?

Ladies only please....thank you!

yes wear a tampon. if you get out of the water, lay down on your towel, then get up you may get a 'rush'. or try playing and running. good idea to pack one along. no worries about ocean water going up and soaking the tampon. we dont work that way!

Yes it is really. You should always wear a tampon when going in water if you have your period, no matter how light the flow because its not healthy or pleasant for anyone else who goes in the ocean. You could just use a tampon with a lighter absorbency

Yes you need to wear a tampon. Anytime you have your period no matter how light it is you have to wear a tampon or use a menstrual cup if you want to swim no matter if it is a lake, a pool or the ocean.

Yes, use a tampon if you are on your period and you will be in the water. use the lightest absorbency tampon.

As for sharks smelling your blood, there are no proven studies that women on their period get attacked more often than women not on their period.

sure unless you want to be dinner to a shark ;p

but really you should always wear one no matter how light it is because not only is is gross to the people who are swimming in that water too and you dont want someone to notice it and you get embarassed.

sometimes i think you guys really lose it ..... PLEASE DO NOT GO SWIMMING IN AN OCEAN ON YOUR PERIOD. SHARKS CAN SMELL THE TINIEST DROP OF BLOOD FROM MILES A WAY. AND U GUYS WONDER WHY THERE ARE SO MANY SHARK ATTACKS. THINK ABOUT WHEN U GO SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN IMAGINE HOW MANY FEMALES ARE IN THE WATER CLOSE TO YOU AND HOW MANY ARE ON THEIR PERIOD. THEN THINK ABOUT SHARKS SENSES AND WHAT THEY EAT OR JUST LIKE TO TEAR INTO PEICES. AND ALSO IF YOU HAVE CRAMPS YOU SHOULD WEAR A PAD ON UR FIRST DAY TO HELP IT OUT.

OH YEAH AND IF YOU GO TO TARGET THEY HAVE THESE NEW CUP THAT YOU INSERT INSIDE OF YOURSELF. YOU CAN WEAR IT FOR UPTO 12 HOURS AND YOU CAN HAVE SEX WHILE WEARING THEM AND YOU DONT FEEL IT. IT IS NOT MESSING OR ANYTHING. I THINK WHOEVER THOUGHT OF IT WAS A GENIUS.

I guess it would be O.K., except I would be really scared to, cause sharks are attracted to blood, and they do come up to shallow water, so yeah... but your probably not a wuss like me, so go for it! =)
