you don't give an infant with diarrhea formula or milk. you stop all feedings and give pedialyte until baby has been free of diarrhea for 4 hours.
This is what the pediatrician told me.

If it's mild diarrhea - less than 5 or 6 stools in 8 hours, you don't change anything. More than that, call the doctor for advice. There are anti-diarrhea formulas on the market, but your doctor may want you to try something else. Honestly, anything not normal in a child under six months old warrants at least a phone call into the doctor.

Yes consult the pedi first! I wouldn't just switch it up if they are sick. Switching the formula may make the diarrhea worse.

Amanda is right. No milk/formula!! also jello water works and so does rice water. My son almost died when he was 4 wks old trying to get him to drink milk with diarrhea. It gives them more runs and dehydrates them!!

Definately consult your pediatrician first, but isomil or soy based formulas are good for digestive issues.

Call your babies Doctor immediately!!!!!!!! Get some pedialite and get the child some medical attention. Their little bodies can't maintain electrolytes with diarrhea....
