If people are living in this country illegally they are breaking the law and thier has to be consequences for that.We can't pick and choose the laws we want to be upheld and just ignore the ones we don't like.Believing that these people should be punished does not mean that we hate them or dislike like them. It just means we expect them do things in a legal manner. Why do you people who believe they should get off scott free keep trying to put words in our mouth by saying that we hate them and calling us racist? Is living by the law too mature a concept for today's society? The only people who talk about hatred are the ones who accuse us of racism, so maybe we know who's hearts are REALLY filled with hatred.

There is a long history of racism's association with conservative politics (yes even when the southern Democrat party was the home of conservative racists) so while it is a kneejerk reaction on the part of 'liberals' to assume any attack on 'illegal' immigrants is racist in nature, it has a reasonable chance of being accurate.
Now, if you want to see current immigration laws enforced, you have to stop supporting the war on terror and the war on Iraq. Rounding up 15-million people liveing in the US will cost twice as much as the wars and with the perpetual Republican tax-cutting there is simply no way to do both.
If you're not a racist and simply worried about law and order you need to elect politicians who don't prosper from illegal immigration and want to do something about it.
Good luck.

Being white and having a Mexican Step father here in the U.S.(Legally). Even he agrees that this newer generation is degrading the core values and idea of "Being American". He did cross the border illegally and went through years of paperwork to get where he is. He said "he didn't expect to be given anything".

There is no logical argument for the illegals so they throw the race card to inflame emotions and distract from the fact that they are illegal. The reasons they come here and that they do jobs Americans wont do are two more examples of trying to excuse the fact they broke the law.

Its not racism, but our laws are not always right. We once allowed slavery. Now we are trying to make criminals of people trying to make a better life for their families, and be honest.People always think Mexican when ever illegal immigration is brought up.So that makes it a race issue.I dont here people complaining about Canadians. The answer for that is: not allot of Canadians come here. Regardless,Canadians still come here very easy illegally but we don't care because they are white.I am an American but even I know I'm a second class citizen because I'm brown and that's the truth people.

Laws can be racist. Ever heard of aparteid?
Having said this I despair of the amount of immigrants entering my country illegally, because the welfare of the people who are legal citizens is negatively affected. I live in the UK.
