There was a summer (2003). My uncle died, as did my cat I'd had since I was 4, and my kitten. My Grandmother had a stroke, and lay on the floor for a week before she was found. She suffered a lot of brain damage from both the stroke and dehydration, but it's amazing she survived at all. My best friend spiraled even further out of control and attempted suicide. It was the hardest time of my life, as everyone I loved was suffering, and there wasn't anything I could do. In the end, with all the bad news coming in, I felt like I was standing on a beach and as one wave would recede, another would come and wash over me, bringing more sadness.

About 2 and 1 half years ago when I found a full time job and started "living" and learning more!

I went through alot of emotional stuff like 2 relatives dying within 2 mos. of each other, I had a few bad experiences that I learned alot from, and I started to "stand-up" to people who tried to "walk" on me.

I believe I needed these events to get ahead in life and it's going better.

When I completed thirteen weeks of living hell, called Marine Bootcamp, followed by eight weeks of Advanced Combat Training. After that even two tours in 'Nam didn't seem that bad.
