You do not need an upgrade, your machine is newer than those games. You will be able to use them fine. The PowerPC G5 is older than your computer, and slightly different, so when your computer uses games that weren't made for Intel it runs an invisible program called Rosetta. You won't see it running, but trust me, it will be. You can use any piece of software that runs on Mac OS X (10.4 or better) that has either the Mac happy face on the box or the Universal symbol. Please, check out the link listed in my "source" box for more information and so see the pictures of the symbols.

Actually the Intel Core 2 Duo is newer than the Power PC G5, so you'd be getting a downgrade. Anyways, you could use this game with your mac since intel macs have a program, called rosetta, that let's you use natively Power PC apps on an intel computer, however it's really slow, so for things like games it would be horrible.
However, you should check online or at a store for a new version of the game since it will most likely have a Universal version, which is a version that runs well on both Power PCs and Intel macs.

If you're looking at any old games (e.g. those no longer sold on the regular store shelves) then you may have some trouble. However, just about anything that can still be found on a store shelf has been upgraded to a Universal app (runs on both PPC and Intel). Also, some that are not Universal may still run, albeit not as fast as you would expect. For any game you are interested in, be sure to check out IMG (Inside Mac Games) for more info. They tend to have a good group of people that have experienced just about anything you might run into.
