It's ok- has a dedicated GeForce 7300 graphics card so it's better than your average laptop. See the complete breakdown of notebook video adapters below:

My only concerns are that it's a 15" screen and it's only got 1GB of RAM (which would be fine with XP, but with Vista you'd probably want to bump that up to 2Gb)

As for it only having 64mb of video memory- here's a clip from notebookreview.com regarding the 64mb GeForce Go 7400:

"There is virtually no performance difference between the 64MB and 128MB versions of the Go7400; TurboCache shared memory compensates for the relatively small amount of video memory on the 64MB version quite well."

So I'd say not a bad deal- although for some better gaming laptops (albeit not brand names like Dell or Toshiba), see the 2nd link.

Not if you want to play modern computer games. This will run 4 and 5 year old games like a dream, but the graphics card just doesn't cut it when it comes to the new stuff. With only 64mb of graphics memory, you won't even be able to run the Aero feature on Windows Vista, or Movie Maker, or Dreamscene. Plus, it has the minimum reccomended RAM for running Vista, which doesn't leave a whole lot left over for gaming. Its not a spectaculary fast processor either. This computer is old technology tweaked to run Vista, barely, but it is not what you need for gaming.

Not especially (although it depends what sort of games you're into). Here are the potential problems:

1) Vista - Vista is not recommended by gamers. There are all sorts of compatibility problems at the mo - maybe get Vista after Service Pack 1 is released (about a year).
2) Processor speed - it's not slow, but it's not amazingly fast either.
3) 1GB RAM - that's not very much, 2GB would be better for gaming.
4) Graphics card isn't bad, but it won't run high-end games particularly well - you'll notice lag with that.

For that price you can get better. Ideally you should go for a desktop pc if gaming is your number one priority.

any Laptop is good for gaming as long as they meet the requirement. these days the games have such detailed graphics that it takes all the computers energy when ruining it.
what you should get or need for to days games are a 160GB hard drive
2GB Ram
nvidia g-force 750 graphic card or higher (512)
about 2 Ghz
it should be a due core as well, OK all this that i mentioned you don't have to have them exact but laptops can not be upgraded so it's best to buy a fast and good one coz games are only getting bigger and need higher graphic cards

The spec doesn't look like it's been put together with gaming in mind but should serve the purpose. If you can get XP with this spec instead on Vista, it would be a lot better because Visa eats up a lot of system resources, mainly the graphics.
