BECOME a Catholic, but refused to abdicate the throne? Just curious.

I'm not talking about him marrying a Catholic (that horse is dead, stop beating him), I'm talking about William himself deciding he wants to be Catholic.

If he became a Roman Catholic before inheriting the throne, Parliament would simply remove him from the line of succession to it.

If he became a Roman Catholic after becoming King, Parliament would simply depose him and appoint the next person in the line of succession.

I guess because of all the "problems" Catholicism caused for the royals way back, it wouldn't be probable for a catholic royal of England. King Henry VIII completely broke away and established a new church, even though he was once catholic. The people were so outraged when they thought that the heir of King James II would become the ruler, because of his catholic mother, that they invited William and Mary to rule. So apart from this little history lesson, it seems very unlikely that it would go over very well if the king were to become catholic.

People this is if HE becomes catholic not what religion the person he marries or the ethnic background of King Phillip ok with that said no he can not become catholic without abdicating because like someone above me said he would be Head of the Church of England which is protestant. You just cant be head of one religion but worship another.

He would not become King if he married a Catholic. He has to marry a Protestant, or he could cause a national crisis and probably get in legal trouble. I can guarantee he or Prince Harry will never be with a Catholic.

HRH prince Michael of Kent married a Catholic and he was required to give up his right to inherit the throne. When one marries a Catholic, keeping the throne or the right to it, is NOT an option.

He can't - as Head of the Church of England, which he would become on being King, he cannot be Catholic!

Then he would be removed from the throne. Deposed. Easy. The Parliament have more power these days than the Monarch.

The Queen's husband is NOT GREEK. He is part of the royal family of Greece but they are not "ethnic" greeks. He's a mix of germanic blood and like most royal families of European countries he is not ethically a part of the people whom his family was royal family of. It seems unusual that William would ever have a problem marrying a divorced woman because his father did and had an affair with her throughout his marriage to Diana. Camilla's husband that she divorced and cheated on is still alive too.

The Queen would totally flip out and just could not adhere
of such and I personally don't think that Prince William
would do that to his legacy.
