ive already done that a ton of times...no lie! almost all my pets are from the pound. my mom use to do this program where she would go to the pound every week and take a picture of on animal and out that pic in the newspaper with a little write up about there breed and stuff! it would be in the paper for 1 week only and someone would find it at my house! because after we took the pic. once a week, we took it home with us to clean it, get rid of fleas, and ready it for whoever the new owner would be! my whole family including me is animal lovers and im sure we saved tons of lives doing that!

i dont really know.....but this happened in my town, hahaha, except this cat was a mascot for the Humane society.: http://savannahnow.com/node/305600
Personally, I think it should be alright to take pets from the pound so they wont be put to sleep. They should advertise pets more often. Everyone needs a pet. ;-) I personally agree with your view.

Just did for exactly that reason,a kitten. This is the 2ND one,now that first is almost 9. I am enjoying this crazy kitten and its playfulness. I used to have DOBIES,great dog,but gf is a cat lover, when my dogs died from old age,it was her time to bring in the cat.

All five of my cats are rescues in one form or another.

That's not the only thing you can do. You should also spay or neuter so there won't be so many unwanted kittens and puppies.

I have three rescue dogs, two rescue cats, and a semi-rescue rat (saved him from being snake food).
