Someone already mentioned the Hyatt at the Arcade, here's the link:

Another place that is pretty cool but is in Akron, which is about 30 miles south of Cleveland, is Quaker Square, where the rooms are inside the silos of the old Quaker Oats factory:

I just read the hotel is slated to be converted into dormitories for the University of Akron, so I'm not sure how long it will remain open as a hotel.
Hope that helps a little. Enjoy your stay!

Yeah, Cleveland really isn't the place for cool/trendy ANYTHING. All of the downtown hotels are going to be over $100. I live in Lakewood which is about 5 miles or so west of Cleveland, and there are 2 hotels (nothing special though - Days Inn, etc) I can think of that would be much cheaper. They're maybe 2 blocks south of Lake Erie (beaches) and on the bus route ($3.75 for an all day pass) that could take you downtown in probably less than 10 mintues. If you're going more for style I'm guessing you could get a cab to take you to W6th (downtown nightlife) for about 15 bucks. Also there are TONS of bars and restaurants within walking distance to go to in Lakewood.
Good luck and have fun!

Okay well it doesn't have a pool but its the oldest hotel in the Cleveland area, all the presidents, and Bob Hope used to stay there when they came to Cleveland. I even stayed there for a weekend, and its a nice place. The Alcazar in Cleveland Hts.
Also the Arcade Hyatt is beautiful and there is another hotel that is located in Tower City but I can't think of the name right now.

The hotel located in Tower City is the Ritz-Carlton right in downtown. I have never even heard of that Alcazar hotel. If you are are not driving in, you may not want to stay there because it is not all that close to downtown, and you really don't want to take the bus or rapid from over there.

Stay in the Ritz Carlton but be sure to stay on the "Club Level"
Its about 300 dollars a night, but well worth it. 1000 sq. ft rooms, all you can eat and drink private lounge, athletes and celebrities all over. Its a blast, my wife and I do it ever year for a weekend just for fun.
