Doctors say ones blood pressure can go up due to stress. Heart patients are to avoid stress. I can't see how a pregnancy could be any different. We know what stress can do to our bodies.
My analogy is: since my blood pressure is good and I am in excellent health otherwise, I don't think short term stress if I handle it well will hurt my health. It would be the same with a pregnant woman; if she is in good general health and the pregnancy is healthy, she and the baby may be able to survive stress just fine. However if she is having other small health problems either related or unrelated to her pregnancy then I would think stress would at least contribute to a miscarriage.
I don't think doctors actually know. Many times they are unable to tell why a woman had a miscarriage.

I would guess that this is possible. Stress causes all kinds of chemical changes in the body, and if they are extreme enough, it's certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that this could cause a baby to be lost, especially early in pregnancy.

You won't like my answer maybe but it is honest.
Women are more likely to become pregnant and carry to full term when they are under a lot of stress because conception itself is able to occur best when the immune system is down. Immune system is down when one is very stressed longterm.
Some women do miscarry, but other factors are involved usually.
Most carry fullterm and have some health problems like obesity, gestational diabetes....

Yes you can as stress is such a bad thing even if your not pregnant, that's why we get told to rest and avoid stress especially in the 1st and 3rd trimester.
