Pres
VP
Speaker
Sen majority Leader
Cabinet members from oldest to newest agency
But chances are if a coordinated series of assassinations took out the top 4 or more, Martial Law would be declared and the rest of the cabinet would not be bothered
if it were one simple attack that claimed them all, now that's a loop hole, as at least one Cabinet member is always sequestered from the rest of the line of succession to prevent a "King Ralph" moment.
But by time we get to the Sec of HLS, they would have declared a state of emergency/martial Law and elections etc. would be suspended until order was restored

Well, my answer is based on what I think would happen. The VP would be Inaugerated as if... So, let's pray that this would never have to be proven. Don't worry, Obama will mess things up and be, not only a 1 term president, but will lift Jimmy Carter off the bottom. I just went over history, as far back as I was born. Not sure of Pres. Ford, but The Rep's, have lowered taxes 3 of 4 times, with Bush the Senior being forced to by the Dem Congress. And the Dem's raised them 4 of 5 times, with Kennedy being the only one to lower them. See where that got him. My favorite Democrat, by far. Hope this helps the class learn that Gov. needs to be shrunk by half. That will help our economy. Blessings, R~<><

If the President, the Vice President are assasinated - i believe its the Speaker of the House who assumes the Presidency under the constitutional rules.
Either way, i am sure that they can find someone more intelligent than the current incumbent.

You will note that not all of them are ever in the same place at the same time. For example, at the State of the Union speech, there are always 1-2 department secretaries in a secure location.

We'd follow the line of succession here :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_line_of_succession
and if for some reason, ALL of those people were wiped out, I suspect an emergency election would be in order.

It is extremely far-fetched that such a thing would take place and that all of those people in the line of succession would be unavailable. Nevertheless, the answer is that no one knows. Congress would probably try to appoint someone.

One member of the line of succession is kept absent from the state of the union. But if everyone in the line of succession was killed, the congress would elect a new speaker who would then become president.
If the entire congress and the line were killed, then the governors of all the states would have to appoint new representatives to congress, who would then elect a new speaker, who would then become president.
