Cancer and Capricorn can have a strong attraction because they are each others polarity (opposites in the zodiac)....perfect match for a torrid affair....but over the long term I would pick Pisces and Cancer.
Also, Capricorn and Cancer are both Cardinal signs...too many leaders in the kitchen. Pisces is mutable (more changeable/adaptable) so that pairing might be more agreeable in that way too.

i think earth and water is better (even though its mud)
