A "date movie"? Old & new. I like "Dying Young".

When Harry Met Sally
Holiday
Serendipity
Sabrina
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
What Women Want

Bringing Down The House
Groundhog Day
What About Bob?
Bridget Jone's Diary
Moonstruck
While You Were Sleeping
One Fine Day
Roxanne
...to name a few!

While some might term these "chick flicks," a date movie to me suggests some type of romantic interest, so a light-hearted, fun romantic comedy is a great mode of entertainment for a budding couple. If it is too suspenseful, or scary, you leave the theater un-nerved. To me, that is not a great way to enjoy a date. If I am with a man who I have found interesting enough to go out with, then I want to see something that will make me feel warm inside... Not walk out and perhaps have my appetite ruined because it was so violent, suspenseful or upsetting... :)

Midnight In the Garden of Good And Evil, Beyond The Sea, or anything with Kevin Spacey in it.

Prelude to a Kiss or You've Got Mail spring to mind. I like all kinds of movies, but a tear jerker or romantic comedy seems to make for a more romatic date...if the guy doesn't complain for an hour afterwards that he had to watch it. :o)
