Has she done this before? You really need to have someone who knows what they're doing.

That being said, when I get waxing done, they put powder on me. The skin should be held taut when they are pulling the strip and then pat the area with their hand. Ingrowns should be carefully removed with a tweezer. Baby oil used when done helps remove any residual wax.

This should not affect any UTI in any way, as you are not dealing with that area.

After 4-5 weeks, you'll need to have it done again, if you plan on using this as your method of hair removal.

Unless your mom's friend does this on a regular basis, I wouldn't recommend having her do your waxing.
UTI's are not caused by sweating & hair. In fact, hair traps moisture & prevents sweating. UTI's are caused by many different factors, waxing won't prevent them.
I hope, that's not why your getting a wax job.
Causes: Holding your urine, sex, wiping the wrong direction, diaphragms, not drinking enough fluids & not wearing cotton u-wear.

Make sure you take ibuprofen about an hour beforehand--it'll help a little with the pain.
