Okay, my cousins wife just went through this - has now 2 babies under 2!!! She had a tubal and then a couple months later realized she was pregnant again!!!! She was upset (obviously) through the pregnancy she demanded that she was going to sue the first doctor because of the pregnancy - after the baby, she went in immediately to another doctor to do it again and told him about what happened. He too advised her to sue. Then, he opened her up. He later explained that the "ties" were still on her tubes from the original operation..... and that it had all been done as it should. So, yes, thought rare - it can happen.

The possibility of pregnancy was far greater before they started burning the tubes closed but it's still possible. If you are wanting to have another baby there are ways you can go about it. The website at the bottom of this post explains.

If your tubes are tied, it prevents the egg from implanting in the uterus, so no, you can't get pregnant in the sense of the egg implanting in the uterus and having a healthy pregnancy. There is still a possibility of an eptopic pregnancy (egg implanting in the fallopian tube instead of uterus) since tying your tubes doesn't prevent ovulation.

It has happened. I worked with a girl who had her tubes tied and she got pregnant. I don't know if they cauterized the ends or not, but It shouldn't happen if it's done right.

not likely but i don't believe they "burn" the ends of the tubes shut. they cauterize them so you don't bleed out but if they come untied it is possible for an egg to make the distance in the gap and you can get pregnant, but again it is very unlikely
