I'm pretty good at denying bad news. I pretend it just didn't happen. Thus, there is no swamp under your house. Simply not there.

LOL I've never found out that my house was built on swamp land, but actually whenever I hear bad news it just doesn't sink in for me right away. It always takes me at least a day to process what I just heard. I go into automatic shock.

Yes , I do that so I can make sure everyone else is OK then wait a few days too take some quiet time to myself before letting things that will upset me sink in .

Yes last Tuesday morning i had the news my best friend had killed himself by overdosing, it didnt sink in until tuesday night, i couldnt cry until then because i was Numb, then i couldnt stop crying all night.
What made me stop crying was that he would have never let me give up and would want me to push harder so i decided to go on and keep going on but a little stronger than before.
I miss him badly though.

Yeah, like the time I found out that my boat had a hole in the bottom when I was 50 ft out in the water.
I just couldn't let it sink in.

Yes...I get bad news a lot.... If I ignore it, or convince myself it's not there, it is SO much easier to get through.
