i am currently 40 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child, my first child was a boy, at 37 weeks when i went for an antinatel app i was 5cm dilated and did'nt have any pain so was induced. my second child was a girl i went into labour naturally at 41 weeks i had a show in the morn and she was born in the night,i know i am having a boy this time and have been in slow labour for ten days,i was 3cm dilated on tuesday. i was just wondering if the sex f my baby culd make a difference in t hw labour starts and develops, i know slow labour can take a while but i have gt regular pain in my stomach and back.

No, it's unrelated to the gender. Every pregnancy is different.

My mom was in labor for 22 hours with me. And 3 hours for my brothers. I was in labor 43 1/2 hours for my son.

It has to do with the hormones in your body as to how quick the labor is. Its all about oxytocin. It causes contractions and dilates the cervix.

Sorry to say all the above are right I've had 2 boys and a girl and all of them under 6 hrs each!(sorry to make you feel worse).

You poor thing i don't think the sex of the baby matters, but surely the hospital can give you something to speed things up good luck with the new baby

Are you trying to have people believe that you've been in labor for over a week, your doctor doesn't care and you're just sitting back writing stupid comments to complete strangers?

You should be talking w/a doc/nurse every other day @ this point. Ask one of them... then go spend time with the other 2 kids you already have.
