i want to make a family "movie" of photographs i have scanned, which i want to set to music. how can this be done?

You can you some software to do it. For ex: DVD Album Creator (http://www.hketech.com/dvdac/)<12MB>. It will give you enought tools to create a slideshow DVD from your digitall pics with effects in transition and music. After all, you will have a disk which can play in any DVD player.

download trial version from http://www.photodex.com/products/proshowgold/
you can add music and visual effects to your pictures
after creating cds from this software you can play them on CD player and watch on TV
