When I was growing up, my dad drilled water wells, and ours was the best water I've ever tasted. Now, 40 years later, I'm living in a farmhouse not far from where I grew up and there is a well here that my dad could very well have drilled, and the water is awful, probably because it's 40 years old and the rust has built up and it has to be softened. We don't drink it. We get those big 5-gallon bottles from a water company. Ironic, isn't it?

Dang city folks, don't know good water from bad, all that cholrine and other chemicals they put in city water sucks....my well water is so pure and fresh and clear and tastes one hell of a lot better than any I've come across in all my travels....

I love well water, for some reason. I grew up with it, and I still miss it. I hate the rust, though.
