I typically have a light flow that lasts 4 to 5 days. I am able to use regular or junior (slim) tampons for the entire duration of my period. This month, however, my period lasted only 2 days and was so heavy that I went through regular tampons in just a couple of hours and had to run to the store to buy supers. What could have caused this change? I am 21. I am on birth control but have been for a couple years now. There have been no major changes in my diet or exercise.

There are many reasons why this could have happen, your body will go through changes from time to time.
Are you drinking enough water, are you under more stress, have you been traveling or have you been sick???

That doctor sounds rude! He reminds me of house, from the show on the usa channel. I would see a girl doctor. I have that problem too but for me, I just had it once when I was 12, then a second time when I was 12, and I haven't had it since and I am about to turn 15. I should probably see a doctor too lol

Your only 21 hormonal changes still occur, which could be the cause of this.

If you have any concerns the best thing you should do is consult your physician.

hum, it could just be your body. i'm on the pill now and my period is always different every time, this time it was heavy like yours but last time it was light for about a week. i really think it's the effects of the pill, nothing to worry about!
