Spent oil is picked up by transportation companies and taken to rendering plants.

Rendering plants cook animal material with the oil and the end product (rendering) is used as a raw material for plastics and rubbers.

Normally the oil is discarded in either buckets or other containers to be thrown away. They've made alot of changes to the oils in the past few years where it has made the food better for you and alot less greasy. Look at the fries at Wendy's - they've changed the oil there. I am sure the catering places, restaurants, fast food chains know what to do with the oil they use.

Well, not always. I remember draining 40 gallons hot into a large pot and transporting it out back to the dumpster where my coworker and I poured it in and this cat came flying out. I don't know who was more shocked. If you're thinking about converting your vehicle over, do it as there's a lot of places that will give you the oil. These big lake freighters can run on that oil easily. Let them keep that oil overseas.

A great deal of it goes to the cosmetics industry along with fat from tubercular pigs . But if women are prepared to pay $20 for a lipstick then that's how intelligent they are

But there again it is mostly men picking up the cosmetics bill from ladies services ref elected in credit card bills

I had a grease bin out back, and when it was full I called a company and they came and siphoned it out. Then back at the plant they filtered it, did something else to it, and then it went to other companies to make anything from fuel to plastic cups and other stuff.

Most of it gets recycled, to be used again for alot of other things. The factory where my husband works uses this recycled oil and grease to lubricate the machines.

My uncle's friend goes around and asks all the local fast food restaurants for their leftover oil and then he uses it as gas for his car. (I think you would do it though only if your car ran on diesel.) Anyway, his car still runs perfectly, and the companies are more than willing to give the leftover oil away.

a rendering service picks it up, cleans it up, and sends it to either a bioenergy plant or animal feed processing plant.
