You can name it if you want to there's no law on it. I had a Honda CB1100F long time ago. The thing was huge. I loved that bike. I called it the Galactica after the TV show Battle Star Galactica about a giant space battleship. I have an 87 Sportster that I use for everything. Touring, adventure touring, a little dirt riding and cruising. I call it the Thunderbolt Grease Slapper after the cartoon character Tom Slick's race car that he raced in every kind of race.Frankly I like the name Midnight for your Ninja. Good Luck , Have Fun and Keep the Rubber Side Down.

Just a comment, and a note to Frank L L. Yes, I name them all, but if you deal with high performance bikes, I would have to say they can have temperament. Old 'Black Mariah', a 1990 ZX11, 1109cc, 12.5:1 CR, dual ram air, Megacycle cam, V&H header, sure has temperament. Different weather conditions, she behaves different , hummity, air temp, etc make a change in the way she feels. Actually, these are the reasons we have EFI today, you get carbs running to their best in your average weather, and they will perform differently in other weather conditions. EFI can handle this. Of course, the bike does not wake up and say to its self, today, I am happy, or I have a headache, but a bike tuned for max performance does respond to weather changes, where a milder bikes changes are not noticable.

So, name them, ride and enjoy them. Try to pick a name which fits. Black Mariah is named after teh old song "They Call the Wind Mariah"

Cheers,

Tomcotexas

First motorcycle and you picked a Ninja!!! Lots of bottom end, about no end to the top end, dealing with traffic and the urge to turn her loose. I'm thinking "Black Death". Take your time, get comfortable with the bike and ride defensively. Assume that car doesn't see you. **** happens and it can get ugly on a bike. I myself with 35 years of ridding bear the scars. Enjoy it, I suggest you get out of town where there's scenery and less traffic. Survive five years and you can call it "Dark Delight". Good Luck

Qianjiang (distributed as Keeway) & Qinqi (China) Wuyang Honda (again, China) Didn't have an "X" brand, unless you count Kinroad Xintian Motorcycle Manufacture Co. Ltd (China, again)

Sure, you can name it whatever you please. Its a free country. In fact you can name anything any given name you choose. Black is a nice Ford color; how about Ninja Model T or black Stallion. I enjoy my bike and treat it as my horse that does not eat grass and has no Temperment.... Its almost like giving your children names when they are first born. Good luck and let me know the final name you would use. FL

I like midnight, it has a nice ring to it, its mysterious and yet can have a good time, like a party lasting all through the night.

I have never heard of anyone naming their motorcycle...but my husband owns a Harley and if I left it up to him, it would be in the middle of the livingroom so it wouldn't get wet or cold....
P.S. No, he hasn't named it.

if you REALLY want to. it's not "required" or anything.
if you have any kids you might wanna name it after them or at least put their names on it somewhere.
