Eat healthy, small meals. Stick with lean meats, veggies and fruits. Exercise regularly.
It's normal to be crampy, it's hard to tell when you will feel more pregnant. Some women get sick and sore breasts, others get nothing until they start to show at month 6.

I'm in the same boat as you are. I'm 5 weeks pregnant and on the heavy side... my doctor recommends I not put on any weight while pregnant (of course, talk to your doctor about what's the right amount of weight gain for you)... he suggested I eat healthy foods and exercise moderately (walking, swimming). With my last pregnancy, I was so nauseous in the first trimester that I actually lost 13 pounds, didn't gain any weight in the 2nd trimester, and by the end of the pregnancy I was at my starting weight (had lost 13 lbs. and gained them back in the last trimester).
Of course, I don't diet while I'm pregnant... I just make WAY healthier eating choices. I think the women who gain 40-50 lbs while pregnant must eat whatever they want... binging on junk food because it's what they crave (being pregnant is not an excuse to eat like a cow). I'm sure that if you make healthy choices in what you eat and establish an exercise routine that's okayed by your doctor than your weight gain during pregnancy should be safe and healthy. Be sure to talk to your doctor... he/she's sure to have some tips for you.

First of, Congrats!!!
As far as healthy weight gain for you and baby is that you only need to up your caloric intake 100-300 more calories. remember, baby feeds of the nutrients in the foods you eat. so make sure fill that extra caloric intake with great foods, such as, fruits, veggies, dairy, lean meats, whole grains, etc... Not much good nutrients in junk food. Give in to your cravings, but do not overindulge in the junk food cravings.
You mentioned that you were "kinda of heavy". If you were overweight before your pregnancy, then you only need to gain up to 20-25 pounds. You will most likely gain up to 4-5pounds during the first trimester(1st 3 months) and then the real fun begins!! you will start to gain a pound a week from that point on.
don't be alarmed if at your doctor's appointments, you gain more than 1 pound or nothing at all. :You might even lose a pound. if you are eating right, staying active as much as you can, for as long as you can, you will be alright! A woman's body is amazing especially during pregnancy and childbirth. The body will know how to regulate itself!!
Hope this helps!!

the heaviness you feel is your uterus, its the first "symptom"of pregnancy. If you are one of the many unfortunate to suffer from morning sickenss, it will start pretty soon, most women report it around 6 weeks. The bast way to gain a healthy weight is to eat well!! You only need an extra 500 calories a day or so while pregnant. Get alot of fiber, take your prenatals, and drink water. You will be fine, and congrats!!!

I was crampy until about 12 weeks, and i was wondering too when I was going to feel pregnant. I never got morning sickness and I thank god for that. To control weight gain, I suggest eating well balanced meals and snacks with protein because protien makes you feel fuller longer. Congrats on becoming a mommy!

try eatting healthy, do alot of walking, I did, eat nutritios meals, when I was pregnent with my daughter, I only gained 10lbs, witch it was not normal, it was too little, when you take your classes, pregnancy classes, what they tell you is to eat healy, stay way from sugar water, and stuff like that, drink alot of water, and remember, your baby is about 6-7 lbs, and you will retain some water, but that will go away after you deliver, when i had my daughter, I actually lost wait when they delivered her, it was kind of funny
and as for feeling crampy i did feel crampy for a about 3-4 month, no morning sickness or anything like that, so I was very, very lucky on that, and as to feeling pregnant I don't think I realized that I was going to have a baby untill the delivery :) oh cause I took care of myself and I knew I was pregnant, but I don't think was mentaly rialized that I was untill I was having her
Good luck

I would talk to your diet and discuss this with him. Explain what your diet consists of and he may need to modify it. With my first pregnancy my doctor told me to eat more carbs because I was not gaining enough weight at first. As for feeling pregnant, I never really felt this way until I started to wear maternity clothes. Pshchological. However, as for the morning sickness, I never really experienced this. However, I did get headaches-not too bad.

i didn't start having morning sickness until i was close to seven weeks with this pregnancy! and i worried about my lack of symptoms! but boy oh boy do i wish i was back to those days!! morning sickness hit me hard from 7 weeks on wards! i did have sore boobs every morning though and also had cramping! i would say make the most of you symptom free days! i am also heavy(plain old fat to be honest) it is not a time for you to be dieting, or at least trying to lose weight! but you can eat sensible , your bound to put on some weight and providing you eat sensibly you should be OK! i am not saying not to eat foods you enjoy or to deprive yourself, but just be sensible... congratulations and good luck
