Being an old geezer that I am, we had outstanding comedians over the years and it is really hard to pick just one as a favorite. We had Bob Hope, Red Skelton, Fibber Magee & Molly, George Burns & Gracie Allen, Laual & Hardy, Abbott & Costello. Later came Jerry Lewis & Dean Martin, and one or two others. Then came along those who used foul language in their acts. Over-all, I would choose the old comedians compared to those but could not pick one as a favorite as they were all greats.

Tough call, Its a toss up between Robin Williams, Eddie Murphy, and Richard Prior. I can't honestly say who is the better of them.
I like them because they've all made me laugh so hard I almost couldn't take it.

Oh man, for some reason I thought we were only talking stand up comedians, well if we can include other forms of comedy, I'd have to say John Stewart is the funniest man who has ever lived.

movie comdians : JIM CARREY, Chris Farley (RIP), Jim Varney (RIP), Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Rowan Atkinson (Mr.Bean)

Stand-up : ventriloquist Jeff Dunham ("Jalopeno on a stick" :p) and Ralphie May (from Last Comic Standing). They're freakin' hilarious. I also love Carlos Mencia, the Blue Collar guys (Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White and Bill Engvall) and Dave Chapelle

I'm dating myself here, but Red Skelton! He always looked like he was having such a good time while he was being hysterically funny. My current favorite is Ron White. He sums it all up when he says "you can't fix stupid".
