i love my parents but im afraid theyll get back together after getting divorced and i dont want that?

my parents got divorced no there dating and they might get back together and i dont want them too. what do i do????

Huh ? Most kids would want to see their parents get back together. A divorce is probably THE worse thing anyone can ever experience, even worse than the death of a loved one.

I speak from experience. It took me years to recover from my first divorce, and now I'm heading for a second one. I would do anything to change the course of my future right now, because I know what I am in for. People change...they sometimes figure out they have made huge mistakes !!!! Your parents went through hell, no matter how destructive the relationship was. Maybe that after looking on the other side of the fence, the grass wasn't so green after all.

So give them a break. Please add to your comment(that is an option here) why on earth you would not want to see them back together.?

I have heard beautiful stories of couple getting back together even after years of separation. I cry when I read these, because I remember just how things used to be when I first fell in love with my current wife, and would give anything to save what little we have left, and start over again!!!

I'm guessing you know more about them than they know. It's probably a volatile situation. Sort of gasoline meets heat. I think you need to get with which ever one you can relate to best. For a girl, it's usually the father. I know that's weird, but, it tends to go that direction. Just show them that things have not changed that caused the divorce. Tell them one of the definitions of insanity is to do the same thing over and over, but, to expect a different outcome. If you can prove that neither has changed then you have a good chance at dissolving this problem before it starts.

I don't know how old you are, but what I can tell you is that they have their own lifes as same as you have your own, you cannot tell them to get together or to keep separated, it's up to them, so you have to get used to it even though you don't like it, it's their decision.
what would you say if they say that they don't want you to have a boyfriend or to hang out with certain people? you'd desagree right? listen to their reasons, talk to them, ask them why do they want to get together again, and maybe you will understand....

Talk to them together, and be honest about the REASONS you don't want them to get back together. They might not even know you feel that way about it, and maybe they can either "rethink" the decision to date again, or they can explain to you the reasons they ARE going to keep dating.
Either way, its best to have the communication in there between all three of you. You have to know how you affect each others lives.

Not a damn thing. This is their life and youre only around for a short time so stay out of it and wish them the best in being happy together again. Someday youll understand. Theyre probably going to get back together without you anyway
