The desire is universal and dominant in all of us. However, part of the thinking process is attentive restfulness allowing our inner being to speak to us.
Most people seem stuck in a rut because they are using an incorrect perspective. It causes boredom, stupid behavior, ill health and dysfunctionality. They must change their perspective to escape these consequences.

In my case, I am who Descartes was speaking of when he said, "I think, therefore I am!"
I can't help it, I am always thinking, and I need to be engaged in something throughout my waking hours. Thinking has been the reason for how and why I have had so many diverse experiences - jobs, hobbies, adventures - throughout my life. I have often been told I think too much, but it is my identity, a part of my DNA, and I don't know how to live any differently.
I think it is not so much a gender-related issue, as simple genetics. Men and woman are equally capable of the same volume of thought, What things they think about and how they intepret what they sense, however, IS often gender specific.

Most people are just too lazy to think. Thinking takes effort, and improves your intelligence. People who are too lazy too think don't even realise how stupid and annoying they are to thinking people. They usually have poor memories. They can't remember things they did last year, even if you, as a thinker, recall every detail. Funny thing is that the majority of people, the non-thinkers, don't even realise how annoying, redundant, and stupid they appear to thinkers because they don't even give it a thought. If you have trouble getting through this paragraph without forgetting where it started or how it progressed, then you're probably not much of a thinker. But you can improve. One way is to read a lot. Reading helps structure your mind and improve thinking capability and memory. My boss can't think clearly or remember things we did last year. It's scary!, as if he's retarded from my perspective. And when I visited his home there was not a book in sight. This guy doesn't read at all, so it's not surprising that he can't think.

In my opinion thinking comes natural to us humans , it might not be the right thinking at times but the mind as a way of working on it's own ,from that we have control of our actions that again could be good ones or bad ones. The brain is always at work .
Man and woman have the same way of thinking ,but "no two minds are alike" !

Well, considering that most human beings can't stop thinking, even for a couple seconds, even if they try to through willpower alone . . . I'd say its close to 100%, with men and women thinking the same amount . . . but women seem to have a harder time keeping it from spilling out of their mouths.

Remember Socrates' epitaph? "Here lies Socrates; he tried to make people think, so they killed him." The common man thinks only when he is forced to. And then, ineffectually. I don't know about women, but recent research reveals that Einstein's wife helped him with his theories on relativity.

Thought happens without effort, but asking questions, examining those thoughts, that is not very prevalent.
