hello, just asking a question hopefully someone can help me, well i went on the birthcontrol needle depo vera, excuse my spelling if it isnt correct, but anyways, went on it 4 years back. after two years we(me and my husband) decided we wanted another child. SO i have now been off the needle for two years and still nothing. I am not sure if i can even have kids anymore, but i asked my doctor about more information about the needle and he just wont tell me anything. I think its for security purposes because of what he did when i was pregnant(giving me two needles while i was pregnant) now any questions i ask he just avoids them. I have asked him plenty of times to get me tested to see if i could still get pregnant, and he keeps saying this isnt the right time. OK well i know it would be impossible for anyone to know if i could have kids, but just advice or anything you can tell me would be greatly appreciated, thanks..

I would go to a new doctor. Ive been on depo provera for like 6 years. I went off waited about a year for my period to come back. I had 1 period and got pregnant again.after baby I went right back on. I wouldnt trust a doctor that wont answer questions. thats part of his job. Go to a new one and explain what happened. im sure youll get the help you need. good luck.

I hate that shot. I also took it after I lost my baby boy two years ago and have still not been able to get pregnant. There are other issues with my body that I hope to take care of very soon, but I feel like I wasn't given enough information about the shot and the doctor made it seem like it was an easy thing to do. It wasn't until after I got the shot that I read up on how it can delay your next pregnancy.

Check the internet and read up on Depo-Provera (that's the name of the shot). If your doctor is avoiding your questions, he must have messed up. Find a new doctor and possibly talk to a lawyer, to see if you might be able to sue.

I wonder if he just knows how bad the depo shot messed up your body.

When I was looking over birth control opions I decided that you couldnt PAY me to take depo because of so many stories just like this one. I read constantly that it takes women years to get pregnant after being on the shot, its not a nice thing at all.

I dont know why he would keep saying it isnt the right time without giving you an answer. I think you should get a second opinion.

Your doctors a crackhead...that's horrible that he refuses to help you. And he should be worried about giving you two injections while pregnant, depo provera causes miscarriages and birth defects if administered while pregnant. I took two injections last year but stopped because depo caused me to gain A LOT of weight immediately. I also stopped getting a period right away, gave me acne and oily skin, and was completely uninterested in sex (they use depo provera to chemically castrate male sex offenders...that explains everything). I know that when you take it for a while depo can cause a delay in fertility for many women. In your case though you should be fertile after two years of it out or your system. It took me 9 1/2 months to get pregnant from my last injection but I only took two shots total. You should consider an endocrinologist they can help you better than a gyno. Good luck

It can often take a while for your period to return to normal after depo provera. In fact some women even need to take birth control pills after depo provera to resume their cycles. I would strongly suggest that you find a new OB/GYN and talk to them about your situation as soon as possible. If a doctor is that dismissive of you and refuses to give you information then it is definitely time to find a new doctor.

Sounds like it is time for a new Dr. If you feel your Dr is not answering your question or helping you meet your goals, then find one who will. Remember the Dr's work for us. Sorry I can't answer your Depo questions
