most likely they will never hear it. thats the only reason to pay management /producers / or to hope to get discovered by A&R at this stage of the game, becauuse they get your music a personal listen. Most nonsolicited CDs are trashed without getting listened to. Its unfortunate but true.

In reality, you'll be fortunate if they listen to it because they receive many upon many demos that they do not listen to them all. Most people make it big through connections, connections that ACTUALLY take the time to hear you. Also note that being signed it not always a good thing. Some bands and artists have gone bankrupt because of record companies that spend SO much money on them only to say "oh yeah, remember the money we spent to take you to other countries and get you hotels and everything? That actually came out of your own pocket so cough it up". There are many problems you can encounter so you'd best get a lawyer to look over the contract for your own good.

No. Don't you listen to music these days? They aren't looking for good sounding music you silly goose! In order to get noticed you have to copy a popular Sony label artist then send it to RCA and you might have a chance. The record labels are only looking for whatever sounds like the competition.

You need to do shows, put your stuff on Myspace (it was designed for bands anyway), get people interested. Talk to local radio shows about playing you cd, enter competitions, and hope you get lucky.

They'd probably need to meet you and hear you in person before they sign you. You need to be quite good I'd think, but then again think of all the rubbish you hear today. But yeah, wish I could be more helpful, but I think that is how it goes... :D

Last I heard they use unsolicited CDs and tapes as garbage bin projectiles.
