I see a lot of rappers like 50 cent and Akon wearing platinum all the time. As a rule darker skin looks better with Gold but since Platinum is more expensive and rare it seems to be the in thing. It goes better with ice anyways.
I am light brown skinned and wear all gold plated Jewelry. I'm thinking of switching to high polished silver for the platinum look. Do you think this is a good idea or should I stick to gold? Problem with gold is the plating wears and it looks like crap eventually.

Gold plating is not like real gold. I have all gold but I have noticed that most of the world is now wearing white gold or platinum. I would switch but I can't afford to switch it all.

Wrong, darker skin looks better with silver or platinum because you can see it more, why do you think most people pair silver or platinum jewelry with a black outfit? because it goes a little better with it than gold.

You should do what YOU like better, not what other people think is in style. It sounds like you think gold looks better with your skin tone, so stick to gold. Why spend so much money on all new jewelry when you like what you have?
