I see you writing this question a few times.

700 is pretty tight for a gaming budget in the UK. Easy in the USA as you know but you aren't there.

So, I've been doing some searching and found a UK site that has a notebook under 700 with a good dedicated graphics processor located in the uk

Run these by the yahoo answers people and get some thoughts.

I don't care for the memory configuration on this one, but everything else looks like a good gaming experience. Big screen, good graphics card, decent hard drive space, dual core processor.

yes, it is AMD and not as fast as Intel, but still fast enough.

Here is the one I would buy myself though....

Good graphics processor, new platform, easy to upgrade to 2gb ram, good name brand, decent price tag. Appears to be a smaller, lighter laptop than the one above.

Hope that's helpful to you

Email me if you have any other laptop questions, be happy to help out if I can.

If you can get a compusa credit card you can get it on a payment plan. Check out a few games you want to play and see what the minimum requirements are to play. But the cheapest I've seen a laptop new is about $750. And it didn't have enough RAM for a lot of games out there. Since your talking pounds (right?) that's like $1,500 dollars. That's about what I paid. I've got am HP pavilion 6600 entertainment PC from CompUsa. It does everything you're talking about. I switched out the printer it came with, though. It came with Vista, a CD burner program, and a photo-editing program.

The only place you could find a laptop like that for that cheap is by stealing it from Mick Jagger's house. Nuff said.
