what are the chances a black man will be president really. i know it's really taboo to be racist but that doesnt change we live in america where our foundation was built on the slavery of black men and women and deep down everyone knows this, blacks do experience racism...he is a very good candidate though i would like him to win. What do you all think of this situation?

To givro, well, i dont know how well qualifications come into play, i mean i dont really know exactly what they do. What i do know is that we need an open minded person running this country concerned about the people.. That's who obama is, i like him because he represents a newer generation of people that arent caught up in their old habits and behaviors, this guy isnt about bullshit like so many other candidates he's a real person

It has nothing to do with being black, and everything to do with no experience to run a nation. He is charismatic and a good speaker, but is to scripted and gives no solid stance on any issues.

Obama has a great deal of experience, although not IN Washington. People keep "re-spewing" this same line, without doing the research. Look it up...
Now to your question, I'm sorry. I do think racism will come into play to a certain degree. However, I think it will be outweighed by the number of people who will vote for Obama that would have never voted at all, if he weren't running. He is DIFFERENT and we are all SO sick and tired of the same crap. He's spent his entire career working to help people learn how to help themselves. He's taught the underprivileged and uneducated to stand up for themselves and take charge of their own neighborhoods. If it's all an act, I'll still take it. I would just be happy to have a President who can ACT! Instead of stumbling over his lies like Porky Pig.

The color of his skin is not a factor to me. What matters is his views on the issues that matter to me. I have to say it is hard to figure out where he stands on some things. For instance he supports the troops, wants more defense funding and is against the war. Just what is his stand? Also I dont like his stand on the immigration issue.

I am sorry, but despite his lack of experience - it's also his race. Do you really believe the Bible Belt would support an African-American president? Or, a female president? It's still very 4th century down in middle America. They would hold their reservations about him, but, would not speak openly about it and we both know that it not just be about his record.

I'm glad you can see through all the "diversity" bull and realize that in fact this is America. I have said since I first heard this nonsense about Obama that if a black were to be elected it would start a race war in this country. You think we're divided now? Try putting a bro in the White House. Civil War II.

Color of someones skin shouldn't be a factor. He could win if he's qualified.

So tell me, in your mind what makes Obama qualified beyond his skin color? He has refused to stand up to and debate on Fox, why should I believe he'll stand up to enemies of our constitution?

He's criticizing conservative Christians for their core believes. and hinted at riots. It seems to me he's attempting to use divisive tactics.

Why should he be president?

You made my point John S.
He's using the same old tired practices, I don't see anyting new at all.

The color and/or sex of the person doesn't matter. The fact that he wants to grant all the criminal illegal aliens amnesty is reason enough not to vote for him.
