The Bears have always been a Defense winning team. If they could somehow put a little more focus on there offense, they would be dynamic. The Bears defense is bad ***. However, the are only that bad *** if the are fresh. Keep them on the field too long and they are not so big of a threat. The Colts did exactly as I thought they should do. Short passes, take your time, and tire them out. The problem is Rex is inconsistant. WR need a little work. a RB that can make a difference would help Rex. If the offense can just keep the ball alot longer and quit the turnovers, they would be a big threat. Most teams are going to catch on to what the Colts did in the last Superbowl.

I would bring in an offensive coordinator. I think that the offence immediately has to change. Great defences can only do so much. They can't score 16 TD's and give up none all season. You can't return 10 kick return TDs in a season. They just need to be more consistant. I think a better all weather QB like Brady Quinn would have did it. Rex is a pretty good QB but not great. So if he isn't on or a WR isn't on or he gets rocked the Bears could be even more inconsistant. The D is the only thing that won't give you too many surprises but the whole city of the Chi needs to pray for the offence every week!

yeah QB is a big question mark for chicago,
but on the same end they have one of the best defences.
The midway men were always around, but now they have a fullcast on defence. But honestly, not only do the tails backs, and QB postion need to step up.. but also so does the wideouts.

Biggest complaint of the chicago team is of course.. Rex Grossman..

I think alot of Rexs problems go hand-in-hand with the overall teams lack of preformance offensively.

The running backs not making big plays, which keeps the defensive backs on the wideouts, linebackers can go back to cover, or rush the QB and attack the pocket as they wish with no running game.
The wide outs simply are not getting off the line on a regular basis cleanly, which means they are trying to shake at least one guy while Rex is back there waiting...

Thats what i see when i watch Chicago..
Inorder to win a Super Bowl? I think the same cast is fine, make a few pickups where you can, i would look for speed..
Hester has proven speed can overcome any other need in a player in the right occassions.
As a Vikings fan, i can say with a bit of pain that Chicago looks to be the only real force in the nfc north. They should easily take the division, with that momentum they could possibly ride back to the Super Bowl, and possibly win it all.

But im from North Dakota, and its good to see a midwest team on top.. Da'Bears!!

LMAO!! Half the people who are blasting Rex are probably not even Bears fans....(if thats the case, what happened to YOUR QB last season? The fact that horrible Rex got the Bears to the Superbowl must hurt, eh??) The other half, should seriously leave him alone. YOU try playing QB in the NFL you first FULL season and see how YOU do.

All the Bears need is for key personnel to STAY HEALTHY and they should be fine! If they stay healthy up the middle of the defense (Tommie Harris, Urlacher, Mike Brown) they will be fine! The offense needs, and I agree, to be more consistent...but its NOT all Rex's fault. For christ's sakes, the guy, for one, never took more than 1 or 2 snaps from shotgun the entire year last season. Something they SHOULD have been doing because it would have afforded him a few more seconds in the pocket and would have took away his penchant for throwing off his back foot while back pedaling away from a blitz. (Duhh...Colts anyone? Patriots? Why not Chicago you ask? Ask the coaching staff) I mean if you wanna REALLY TRULY blame someone for that AND the loss in the Superbowl, WHY DONT you blame the friggin offensive coordinator, Ron Turner for NOT running the ball down the Colts throats like we did in the first quarter of the game when they COULDNT stop it? Yeah blame poor REX for Turners bad choice in trying to put the ball in Rex's hands on a rainy wet night, when we chould have been pounding it. Right, the blame is in the right place on THAT one! *shakes head and rolls eyes*

First of all, they need consistent play from Rex. He showed that he can be good sometimes in the first half of last season, now he needs to show that he can be good all of the time.

Secondly, they need Cedric Benson to step up and show that he can be a starting RB in the NFL. He isn't a proven performer yet, and the Bears might end up regretting letting Thomas Jones go a lot more than they expect if Cedric doesn't live up to his hype.

what they need to get back to the superbowl and win it is for Rex Grossman to improve his play by a lot. They went out and helped him this offseason but getting him a good threat over the middle in greg olsen. Its all a matter of grossman stepping up this year and proving hes the one who should lead this bears team. Another thing they need is for their impact players on defense to stay healthy and out of trouble. The players i'm referring to are; brian urlaucher, lance briggs, tommie harris, tank johnson, charles tillman, and mike brown. Lance briggs might not even play this season or for a good portion of it, since he might hold out. but the bears have a good defense and if the rest of their good players stay healthy and play well it will be a repeat of the 2006 defense of the bears.

The Bears defense is still pretty good losing only a couple players. I think they need to get a consistent QB. If Rex improves they will be succesful.

GO BEARS!!!

They have no prayer of winning the Super Bowl...They need a superstar QB, which they really haven't had since Jim McMahon...Jim Miller was the last relatively good QB they had...

Rex Grossman needs to focus on the game instead of what the media is saying about him. The recievers need to step up and make plays! They need to trade Briggs cause he obviously doesnt want to play for them! Also they need Cedric Benson to step up and fill the RB hole Thomas Jones left.

Or they can trade Briggs and next years 1st round pick for Mcnabb
