The whole 2012 theories have made me extremely depressed about life in general. I feel like I dont want to go through the next 5 years if were waiting for something bad to happen. Can anyone suggest some news or links to reduce these concerns?

You should relax because the 2012 myth is just so much b.s. dreamed up by a few writers who wanted to make a buck!

Most of the myth revolves around the fact that at the winter soltice is 2012 our sun will be aligned with the center of the galaxy. What the myth perpetrators don't tell you is that such an alignment has occurred repeatedly in the billions of years Earth has been around, the last one some 26,000 years ago. Obviously nothing bad happened since we're all still here.

I'd recommend that you carefully read the story at this website ==>http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science/2007-03-27-maya-2012_N.htm

Look at it this way: 2012 is just two thousand and twelve years from an arbitrary date, that was chosen randomly and doesn't have any relationship to the natural forces and bodies in the universe. Different cultures started their calendars at all sorts of different times, so the year zero is just whatever someone decided to make it... for political, religious or cultural reasons. So the numerology of any particular date is just pure nonsense. 2012 in today's calendar is not the same year as 2012 in the original Christian calendar, certainly not the same year as in the Hebrew Calendar which preceeded it, and not the same as calulated by Buddists, Rastaferians, Egyptians, or anyone you can think of. So why should it be special? Don't sweat it.

Dude, I've heard all kinds of crazy theories about the world ending in 2009, 2010, 2012, and so on. Stuff like that just can't be predicted. I'm sure somewhere down the line Earth will see its end, but it won't be in your lifetime so no worries.

2012 theories are just hoaxters, scrap it

as i always state reality is what YOU think what reality is. Now its a question about how intense you let yourself being influenced, and by which sources.

'end of the world' theories do have a long history
they came and the particular date passed without anything happening. The next day sources yelling about that vanished, just to reappear month later with a new date.

so what ?
i won't call that wise to listen to such doubtful sources..

The fact is no one knows until it happens. But I belive the 2012 theories were to do with the Mayan calendar and what they predicted.

There is absolute no evidence that anything unusual is going to happen in the year 2012. Don't let some crazy prediction make your life miserable!

The next 5 years will be bad but if you really want to skip them you should build a machine like in the film 'Contact'.It will open a time exselsrstor and teleport you in the future. Please don't ask how I know this.

Yeah, there is no basis for this prediction. Totally false. There are so many better reasons to be depressed about life. You might want to try global warming, US foreign policy, consumerism, religious wars, or your own impending death (before or after 2012...).
