EMO's I assume are people with emotions; this means all people because all people have emotions. Everyone is born with 6 basic emotions according to the psychology books I've read. They are, fear, surprise, disgust, anger, sadness, and happiness. You can't prevent an emotion from occurring but you can control what you do about an emotion. Don't you think it a little odd to categorize or label a person as emotionally different. What exactly is an EMO doing about his/her emotions?
You say they are "always depressed" If their depression is interfering with their life then they need professional treatment, not condemnation. This way they can find out what is causing their abnormal sadness and they can change to eliminate the cause. What, exactly, causes depression?
Self injury is something new to me; kids did not go that route when I was in school. It is kinda like, now, it is fashionable. Those who do it are getting something emotionally satisfying out of doing it. What, exactly, are they getting out of it?
If you can answer, exactly, these three questions above you will understand what is up with EMO's! No two people are alike and you will never succeed in making everyone the same as you. Ask them. Ask those who are in authority. Ask around and I;ll bet you don't get two answers the same.
Good luck (I know this isn't really an answer but is 3 more questions), good health, peace and love!

I have tried time and time again to educate people, but they just will not listen. Emo's do not cut themselves, in fact, anyone can. Even the preppy girl that might sit next to you in English class could probably cut yourself. Take a look at what you're saying, before actually speaking it. Maybe something smart will come out. I'm sorry, but maybe you should take a step back from preconceived notions said about a certain group of people or about many things in general; have a more open-mind about things before you say something else that's ignorant.
Cheers.

First of all, I think calling people "emo" is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. It is so bizarre and so are the people it describes. Anyone who cuts themselves needs mental help. I just dont understand this need to put people into these ridiculous categories based on their actions, clothing, etc.
She told you her pet rock's name was Jake? That is terrible. Totally uncalled for.
Tickle Me Emo.

Wow. That was unnecessary and uncalled for. People have a right to dress the way they want and listen to the kinds of music that they want. See people as individuals not a group.
