I`m intending to fly to the channel islands/France/Ireland in the next few months - will I need to show my passport (Its a british one) - do I need it? Will I be fingerprinted? We are flying our own aircraft and probably landing at unknown airstrips.

you definitely need your passport and you should check to find out if you are going to need visas for any of the countries that you might enter. I assume that you know what you are doing in your own plane. Finger printing is a rarity. Sounds like fun.

Technically because you belong to the European state you can travel with just picture identification, but many times one is still asked for his/her passport.

You need your passport if you fly by plane , because the airports require it

definately need your passport - and lets face it, I'm sure it'll not take up much space.

Again - finger printing is a rarity - but if it's required at the time you have to accept it.

Have fun

100% for sure you wil need it to get back into the UK ... unless, of course, you are not intending to come back :-)
