Does anyone know the poem or saying about the harshness of winter when the berries are in abundance .I think it's a northern saying/poem, and the words thaws and haws are included in it. Might even be Scottish. Many thanks.

Sounds like Shakespeare--a line from Winter's Tale.
Haws are hawthorn berries that persist in winter.
