D = t*35 = (t-1)* 40 : t>1
35 t = 40 t -40
40 = 5 t
t = 8 hrs
D = 35 * 8 = 280 KM

Train A: 35 km/h
Train B: 40km/h
After 1 h, Train A has travelled 35 km which is distance between trains when train B sets out.
Relative speed of B to A = 5km/h
t = 35 / 5 h
t = 7 h
Train B will catch Train A after 7 h

it has been a long time since i did such question
let mi think

solvin without algebra
start, first train ahead 35 km
when travellin, time need to catch up...
in 1 hour catch up... 40-35= 5km
time needed 35/5 = 7 hour
total time travell for slow train in seven hour is 7 x 35=245
however tt is nt the ans
the slower train started 1 hour ealier so add 35
thus ans is 280

solvin with algebra
let time needed to catch up be y
(y+1)(35)= 40y
y=7

dist= 7 x 40 = 280 km

that's too easy.

Distance(x)=35*(t+1)
Distance(f)=40t

Time at which they are equal: 40t=35*(t+1)
(40-35)*t=35
5t=35
t=7 hours.

Distance from station X=35*(7+1) = 280km
