All of the jewelers I've talked to say the asscher cut is just a fad and the brilliant cuts are much prettier. I'm torn between the two. Thanks!

Traditional would be my choice simply because its classic. You don't really want your ring to bve dated do you? 50 Years from now you want it to still be considered beautiful. You don't want people to look at it and say something like "Do they still make them like that"? Or worse.

Asscher cut diamonds are beautitul and classic. This particular cut has been around since the early 1900's. If you go this route these are the minimum standards:

Cut: Good
Color: G
Clarity: VS2
Depth Percentage: 67-72%
Table: 54-61%

I personally have a gorgeous traditional emerald cut diamond, however, it does not"sparkle" of reflect light like the asscher cut. If I had it to do again, I would go for the asscher cut!!

Good Luck!!
