People will yearn to live in Freedom, it's human nature.
In order for the communist state to sustain itself, it must necessarily impose rule by an iron fist.

I would be cautious using the word "communist." There has never been a communist state in the world (in name perhaps, but not in practice). True communism by definition has no leaders. We have witnessed socialist revolutions, and obviously to wrestle power from one group either a person or group must assume control. Not all of necessity have been "tyrannical dictatorships." Allende in Chile was not; the Sandinistas in Nicaragua were not. However, as many have pointed out in posts here, because of pressures from outside by other countries, socialist states often must take on defensive postures. And, just as in times of war the US president takes on more executive power that would not be allowed in times of peace, a leader in a socialist state must balance the agenda with the defense of the country.

Mussolini and Hitler were Communists? I don't think so.
Mugabe a communist? probably not.
Sadam Hussain? Nope.
Papa Doc? Greedy yes, communist, no.
The Romans? Probably before communism existed.
The Kings & Queens of England? I think that they would probably have someones head off.
If you want to read about people (not just communism) then Orwells Animal Farm would help.
Whatever the system, there is always some greedy git who wants more than the others.

There is no such thing as communism anymore than there is any such thins as socialism. The strong will always come to the top and dictate to the weakest. We have seen it all before, no matter how good the principle it doesn't work in practice. Look at our own socialist government - they want to rule every part of our lives, spy on us and have us arrested for reading out the dead of our soldiers in Iraq.
edit: sorry about the typos

Typically because they were replacing another tyrannical dictatorship, and simply installed their own to keep order and then never went away.

nobody seems to have ever written a book, solely about tyranical dictetorship. If they did, would they discuss all countries who do not have free voting rights for every citizen?
Would they discuss the number of countries whose leaders are so wealthy, while their fellow countrymen ,by birth and belief, starve to death. The rest is history,

socialism inherently requires the assumption of absolute power by the state [which can only be gotten by taking it away from the people].
after all, if the state can not force people to work the jobs it provides at the wages it decides, how then can it enforce the notion of "from everyone according to their means, to everyone according to their needs."?? {I believe the quote is from Lenin and I admit that I did not want to study the details of Marxist thought.}
oh.

Human nature where power goes to the head of the leaders. It isn't limited to communist governments either.
Which is why you always have to be alert and fight to protect freedom even in Democratic governments.

Because communism can only be sustained by a dictaroship willing to enforce its oppresive teaching by force. That being said, any armed revolution usually leads to unstability (remember the French Revolution?)

In order to preserve "equality," one needs a system. That system needs leaders. Those leaders are not equal to the rest of the people.
So, in order to preserve "equality," "equality" must be destroyed.
Ergo: "equality" is an empty dream.
Like freedom and justice.

Because the communist system of government lends itself so easily toward corruption and manipulation. Once the people have been put down and incapacitated, it is easy for one to take over.
