'Britishness' does not exist. We are either English, Scottish or Welsh, each with a separate national identity and culture.

The term 'Britishness' was first pushed by King James the First of Britain after 1603 as a way of convincing the English that they were not being taken over by the Scottish Court.

400 years later, the same word 'Britishness' is being pushed by Gordon Brown, our new Scottish president elect, for the same reason.

Some things never change!

What it means to be British today is belonging to a society which is P.C. crazy, which rewards and protects criminals, where the elderly are marginalised and despised and if you are a lazy layabout or unmarried mother you will be showered with benefits and handouts. It instills no moral fibre and is afraid to discipline children in school and by that I do NOT mean allowing physical punishment.

Prior to WWII Great Britain stood as the bastion of world power, the word of its people, their character and actions, its Govt and military revered / respected the world over!

What have we today - nothing! What the few of the RAF and the battle hardened men and women who fought on, sustained by those who had escaped from occupied and persecuted lands of Europe, together with both the Commonwealths military and the USA, who forgathered and aided our traditions of centuries and its outcome known and respected by the world. All of which has now gone.

What the Nazi world could not destroy, has, in less than fifty years, been destroyed by politicians and factions within!

Britain / made of its 4 united nations - has been consigned to history!
