If u r using Windows OS, follow the following steps:
1. Go to "tools" menu
2. select 'folder option' option
3. select "view" option tab
4. unselect the box corresponding to "Hide extension for known file types"
5 then press "Apply' and 'Ok" buttons.

Not all extension files are accessable it really depends on the format they were created in.

go to windows explorer, click tools,folder options, and click the tab view. You'll see a cheque box which says hide extensions. Unclick it.
