No, I think she is unique and quirky but strong. Plus I know that America Feraro (I think that's her last name), the girl who plays her, is really pretty beyond the costume.
-She is not forcing it for the show, that is the character. The "ugly duckling" kind of thing. A beautiful sister and handsome father but the lacking in obvious outward beauty sister. It's part comedy on purpose. She has fun with the characters goofiness.

it would be insulting to book an actress to play an "ugly" character. but for the show, they try to "ugly her up" if you know what i mean. i agree with you and dont think shes the least bit UGLY. first off ugly is an ugly word and secondly, the actress who plays ugly betty is beautiful and in her own way!

Can't say she's the most attractive girl on earth!! I think sometimes a personality can make unattractive people more appealing, just the same as someone who is apparantly "stunning" (models etc) can then seem like the ugliest person in the world when they show their personality.

i dont watch that show, but in the commercials it looks like shes trying to hard to look ugly like shes forcing it for the show...its not funny like that
