A bit of both. No one teaches you to breathe, eat or develop sexually. The Nature V Nurture argument is usually made for specific topics and behaviors, such as sexual preference or alcoholism. To claim that all human behaviors are one or the other would be extremely fallacious.

From a psychology point we can be born with genes that can also play a part in the process.

The way we're raised, loved and cared for also plays a big role in how we view life, how we treat others and how we view ourselves. If we become anti social or not. We learn not only by what we see but how we're treated like conditioning.

However, we need both in order to be "Normal" so to speak!and everyday people and we are indeed made up of both too.

As an educator, I know humans are genetically connected to blood type, hair color, eye color, height, weight, and other physical characteristics. Genetically, humans may also be predisposed to diabetes, alcholism, and mental disease.

I do believe that humans learn the concepts of morality, dignity, and character through nurturing, not nature. During the 30 years I have been a teacher, I have seen many students who exhibited very few morals, lacking dignity and character, achieve college degrees. Many of these students lacked support and respect at home; only receiving this at school.

We, as parents, bring children into this world; yet so many of us forget they are "babies", expecting them to "act" as adults. Our job, as parents, is to "teach" them. They learn from us.

nature merely represents the raw potential.it is thru nurture that this potential is expressed.
take for example, a surgeon.if placed in an area with inadequate medical facilities, he will still do better than an intern with the best of facilities.

Not to be rude, but does there always have to be a definite one sided answer to all debates? Of course, aspects of heredity define who we are. Likewise, our environment can also shape us. So my opinion is: go with the "grey" inbetween the black and white, because both nature and nurture have effects on who we are.

Nature nurtures us. Really both are a factor in development.
What really matters is that we strive to be the best we can be

Primarily it is a complex interaction between the two. I think we have genetic predispositions to certain behavior, but we still have free will to resist if we wish.
