It is important to educate yourself to form worthwhile opinions.

please answer the question, don't comment about the example. If you want to chat just email me, thanks. Matthew E, Hayward

EXAMPLE:
I have never claimed pro or con about the war. To date I am still vastly ignorant to make a well educated opinion about such things. Although I have spent more time researching foreign policy, economics and history, related to our occupancy in the middle east, than 99 out of 100 people.

Please take some time to watch a slightly bias but very accurate time line of how we got to Iraq

This is an interesting question that I want to refer all to. Lots of great info, including the link above.

Duh! Most people don't even understand how the War on Iraq is illegal both on the unconstitutional side in which Congress never declared war, and how we were brought there under false reasons. Now we have privatized military(Black Water) there killing whoever they're told to. We're at over 3,000 American troops(that died in battle, not counting the thousands more that died when leaving the battlefield for treatment and what not) and over 655,000 dead Iraqis. This includes women and children that we're mowing over with depleated uranium shells.

People say that leaving there would cause chaos and more plots to attack America. Fact is, there was chaos before and there will be chaos after. We have the best military defense system in the world, yet on 9/11/01 we were led to believe that 4 hijacked planes w/ idiots who couldn't fly Cessnas flew 3 of the 4 planes into their designated targets.

People need to get the real facts and stop believing the corporate controlled media for their disinformation.

Yes. Yes. Education will provide you with data that will contribute to an increase in accuracy of your assessments. Georgie porgy used rhetoric to support his war against Iraq. Weapons of Mass destruction, and the development of nuclear armament were the focus of his action. He knew better. It is a war for oil. Remember this. I do not dispute the necessity of removing Saddam from power. However, OIL is the reason.

most of us hear bits and pieces then form an opinion. unfortunately we don't always research before we form these opinions. I am guilty of this, although If I do happen to learn more about whatever it is I more times than most did form the correct opinion on the matter. Using my intelligence and gut feelings I rarely have to eat crow and admit error

Great observation! The truth is that no one can really receive ALL info on a matter...only as much as they can. Our best bet is to use logic and instinct to form hypotheses based on the information received so far. Sometimes the greatest discoveries are found by accidental happenstance.

May the Force be with you.

Ideally someone should be educated about a subject before giving their opinion on it.But in light of that, people are entitled to give their opinion about somethng based on their 'feelings' about it - which are as legitimate and valueable as the facts they may have accumulated and stored in regards to it.
