As the old sayings go....."Let the buyer beware", and "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".
If you find something you want, check out the sellers feedback. Legitimate sellers USUALLY have a pattern of positive feedback. Online stores are USUALLY a pretty safe place to buy. One way to cover yourself is to use ebays PAYPAL service. Items purchased thru PAYPAL are covered up to $2000 against fraud. I have been buying on ebay for a while, and have never had a problem. I have seen a number of "offshore" (Taiwan, China, other far eastern area) sellers that look a little questionable. Their merchandise is priced REALLY low, but the shipping is very high. That can be another indicator of a shady deal. Check ebays info section about fraud and how to protect yourself. Have fun, but be careful!

One hell of a lot of stuff on Ebay is fake, illegal etc etc.

Ebay don't police the site - the members do!!

If you haven't already done so, open a Significantly Not as Described dispute and get your cash back!!

And leave the seller a BIG FAT RED NEG to warn others too.

Yes, you are. Tons of people sell counterfeit goods on eBay. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is fake.
