America got involved because of Pearl Harbor. I am sure that Great Britain asked America to join in the war and that America would have joined the war even if Pearl Harbor had not been bombed to protect its own interests in international affairs, and to help its allies in any way it could. Could you be more specific in your question though and name people or places in which top British officials met with American officials?

This did not happen.
Although the USA traded with both sides during the first two years of the war, it would not enter on the side of Great Britain until Hitler declared war on the USA just after Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in December 1941

Hi,
As mentioned before, America was involved in the war because of Japan's attack at Pearl Harbour but the USA would've probably got involved sooner or later anyway. Before that, they refused to go because they were neutral and didn't want to get involved in affairs overseas.
But try this website, it might give you some clues:

Good luck with your research!
