You might want to put the phone some credits..buy the lowest denomination so it wont be costly..if you have already succeeded in placing a little amount of credits on to the mobile then your all set..use the mobile to ring your mobile..in thats way the number will appear

Just type *#100# and press send, this will give you your mobile number.
If you ever have a fault then these commands may be helpful *#101# gives you which HLR (Home Location Register) you reside on. This may not mean much to you but is where the network looks for routing information when someone calls you.
*#102# tells you which exchange you are registered on.
*#103# gives you the current date and time.
*#104# gives you your mailbox number and which MLR (Message Location Register) you are on.
*#105# tells you which exchange you are on and which GPRS node you are on for data (getting onto Vodafone Live! for example)
Other useful numbers for pre pay customers are 191 for customer services, 2345 for top ups, *#1345# for getting your balance displayed on screen, 121 for voicemail and if you receive any spam text messages forward them onto 87726 (VSPAM) which is a free service offered to remove subscribers from unwanted/unrequested advertising messages.
If you get stuck or need any help don't hesitate to drop me an email and I will help any way I can.

If you have credit then text another mobile and it will display the number, or call 191 for operator assistance, they know the number you are calling from.

With vodafone, you can put as little as £5 calltime credit on and then all you need to do is ring your own landline or mobile and the number will be displayed.
